@Peter - that was a very interesting article, but I am not sure how I really feel about Facebook at the moment. I don’t really think they have a defined idea, everything seems a bit blurry at the edges.

@Puke.com (my new name for it) - Yes really not happy with it. There is a point at which AJAX puts me off. There is no need to have the timeline open whilst I am editing my profile, so don’t popup a box on screen, just let me view a normal page.

@IILWY - Neil you might also want a dictionary… Unicron what a truly great game, much prefer it to Tetris, especially because people cheat so much, and you get some really stupid words.

@Neil - Hope it wasn’t Safari’s fault, don’t want you to give up on it or anything.

@Peter - thanks for the link. I came across that in my reader but I didn’t actually read it until you brought it to my attention. That’s EntreList-powered filtering at it’s best. Facebook do have a mainstream-friendly version of all the WebTech flavours-of-the-month, but they need to focus more on Twitter-esque coversation.

@Wakoopa, @Peter - congratulations on the new round of funding. The upcoming recommendation project sounds like it will be in safe hands then.

@Plurk.com - Ryan and I had a simultaneous Skype-chat/Plurk-testing session last night. It may be the hot topic right now, but I wasn’t particularly impressed with some of the design decisions, particularly those moving comment.count links…Has anyone else had a chance to try it?

@IILWY (I’mInLikeWithYou) - The guys at our favourite Tetris-morphing startup have added ‘Draw’ to their arcade suite. Ryan and I had a go on this too, and it’s pretty special (unless you’re using a trackpad, please use a mouse).

This is an article about the fact that there are - broadly speaking - two types of users: early adopters and mainstream users. Because the former group is small, and the latter group is large, it’ll be platforms like Facebook that will assimilate early adopter technologies like Twitter, Friendfeed, RSS, etc., instead of those services being successful on their own, despite large followings among early adopters. I think especially @Eric and @Neil will agree with the thoughts behind this article.
